Puning Hot Spring

A 4x4 runs you up a lahar canyon, and then the resort works in three stations. First a burial in warm volcanic sand. Then a mud pack made from Pinatubo ash. Then thermal pools at the top of a short walk.

It takes about eight hours door to door from Metro Manila and involves no trekking. That makes it the practical answer for anyone the crater day rules out. The lahar canyons and the 4x4 country
